With the importance of joining forces to fight Covid-19 more apparent than ever, and with it’s long tradition of supporting charitable organizations in times of need Sotheby’s auction house has partnered with Google to support the International Rescue Committee (IRC) to hold a series of fundraising events from 1 to 8 of May.

The auctions aim to raise funds to assist the most vulnerable groups who have suffered from the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic in Europe and the United States. The uniqueness of these auctions is that they give an incredible, exclusive chance to have a virtual chat with some of the most fascinating names in music, politics, science, design, culture and sport.

The idea of having online coffee breaks belongs to Madeleine Albright, the first woman Secretary of State of the United States.

The list of topics and the variety of eminent participants are mind-blowing. For instance, you can discuss musical influences and inspirations with New York garage rockers, The Strokes, receive decorating tips from renowned interior designer Jacques Grange, take a Shakespearean acting class with Sir Patrick Stewart, record a song with renowned singer and musician Sting, have a private video call with Apollo 9 astronaut Russell Schweikart, discuss world events with Hilary Clinton or take part in a house party with Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes and much more.
