European Property Awards 2026: Our Fourth Year in London

On 22 October, the European Property Awards ceremony took place at the Royal Lancaster hotel in London. It is the European round of the International Property Awards, which have been running for more than 30 years. An independent panel of more than 80 industry experts judges every entry on six criteria: quality, service, design, innovation, originality and sustainability.

Cyprus Sotheby's International Realty has taken part in the awards since 2023. You can read about previous seasons in our articles on the European Property Awards 2025 and the 2024 awards. This year the agency was recognised in two categories: Real Estate Agency 2–4 Offices, Cyprus and Real Estate Agency Marketing, Cyprus.

What has changed in four years

The organisers' approach and judging criteria have stayed the same. What changes is mainly who takes part, with more companies coming from different countries in different years. The ceremony format was new this year: for the first time, only winners who attended in person were announced on stage. The full list of results is published on the awards website.

Innovation and the personal touch

Anastasia Yianni, CEO of Cyprus Sotheby's International Realty, spoke on the panel "Navigating Change: The Innovations Transforming Development, Real Estate Strategy and Sales Methodology". The panellists agreed that automation is now a necessity in the market. At a real estate agency, though, its main purpose is to free up time for personal work with clients.

What the European market is talking about

In informal conversations around the ceremony, the main topics were global volatility, geopolitics and how both will affect property markets, each of which faces its own challenges. Ideas for the Cyprus market

"One talk I especially remember was from a developer in Spain: they give a five-year warranty on their properties. We would be glad to see this practice in Cyprus too, and we will work towards it," said Anastasia Yianni.

Sotheby's International Realty offices

The Sotheby's International Realty offices in Greece and Spain also attended the ceremony, and both received awards. The CEO of the Spanish office was also recognised separately as a leader.
